A screen does not lower the care standard
The medical boards' telemedicine policy says care from a distance must meet the same standard as care given in person.
- For online care, ask how questions reach the clinician and how replies arrive.
- For an in-person visit, ask what to bring and how later questions are handled.
- For either format, ask who reviews your health history and who follows up.
Find out what happens when a screen is not enough
That policy says the clinician must arrange tests or send you for an in-person examination if these are needed to understand your health problem.
- Ask where any requested test or examination would happen.
- Ask who receives the results and talks them through with you.
- Ask whether those steps add to the quoted fee.
