A guide to asking about careKeep your questions

Plan the conversation

Visit checklist: get your questions ready.

Write down why you are asking about semaglutide. A short note is enough. Keep the goal separate from the name of a drug you have seen advertised.

Have the basics within reach

Gather what you already know. A visit is also a place to say that something is missing or uncertain.

  • The names of medicines and supplements you currently use.
  • Past care or test results you want the clinician to consider.
  • Your location for the visit, including which state you will be in.
  • Your questions about the product, follow-up, and payment.

Bring records of these past health problems

The semaglutide (Wegovy) label, checked September 26, 2026, names past health problems to discuss before a prescription.

  • Tell the clinician about medullary thyroid cancer, a rare thyroid cancer, in you or your family.
  • Also bring records of pancreatitis, a serious inflammation inside the belly, or gallbladder disease such as gallstones. Inflammation means a part of the body becomes swollen and sore. Mention any serious problem with the stomach emptying too slowly.
  • Also discuss eye damage from diabetes, other diabetes medicines you take, pregnancy plans, and any upcoming surgery.
  • Tell the clinician about past belly problems even if you do not know their medical names. Bring any records you have and ask for help with unfamiliar terms.
  • Ask what further information would be needed before a decision.
